I have been focusing on the verbal/nonverbal representation of Sake.

Artwork Concept

To 融 the Sign of 酒 in China and Japan

Represent the taste of 文佳人 with the 2 kinds of Sign of Sake

表現したい味

・上立ち香はメロンの皮、青い小瓜、黄緑から水色の印象
・舌の入口でさらさらと歓迎するようなざわめきのテクスチャ、光沢のあるレースカーテン
・舌の先に黄色いカボチャの種のような形の透明なイメージ
・中心の味はなめらかだが、ナイフで切ったようなシャープな輪郭

二層性
・中心には透明でなめらかな、ガラス質のストラクチャ
・ガラス板の上下にざらつく渋味、舌の表面はしびれるようなザラつき

喉の奥に熱い呼気を残して素直に消える

Sign of Sake in Japan: 杉玉

杉玉 (ceder ball): Sign of the comming of new sake of the year (as Beaujolais nouveau).

It would be fascinating if the calligraphy on the sake flag represented the taste of the restaurant’s sake.
酒旗の文字がその店の酒の味を表現していたら面白い

It would be curious if the shape of the cedar ball represented the taste of that year’s sake.

Aims

Japan, China, and Taiwan share two cultural backgrounds: the Kanji cultural sphere and brewage with rice.
日本と中国、台灣は、漢字圏と米の酒という2つの文化的背景を共有しています。

In this work, combining these two cultural backgrounds, I will produce an installation with the motif of two types of sake SIGN.
この作品では、この２つの文化的背景を融合させ、2種類の酒のsignをモチーフにしたインスタレーションを制作します。

一つは唐詩にも詠まれている酒旗であり、もう一つは日本の新酒を告げる杉玉です。
One of the motifs is the sake flag depicted in a Tang dynasty poem, and the other is a cedar ball that heralds the arrival of new Japanese sake of the year.

文佳人という一つのお酒の味わいを、酒旗の漢字と、杉玉の造形という２つのsignを通じて表・象 re-presentします。
This artwork represents the taste of one sake “Bunkajin” hrough two signs: the Kanji on the sake flag and the shape of the cedar ball.
